Just wondering what parts will actually exchange from the ek9 to the em1 ( civic EK coupe )
Just bought it today so i might even start a thread for it ?
Im assuming just about everything will swap over. But for example, would a carbon bonnet designed for the ek , be the same as the em1 ?
Scuse my ignorance, im a crx owner ;)

Bonnet will work aslong as its the same model (pre/facelift) as the EK

Majority of things will fit

Suspension, brakes etc etc, exhaust wont though

If the EK9 is a 99-00, the front end body parts fit. 96-98 all front end body parts were different.

Then, aside from that, the only things that won't fit are the hatch specific parts like the EK9 inner rear panels, cargo cover, tail lights, hatch, wing, bumper, roof panel.
For the wheels and brakes you'd have to do a five-lug conversion.
The carpet from an EK9 fits oddly because the holes for the trunk/gas levers on opposite.
The ek9 storage pocket doesn't fit too well in a LHD car.

This is the info ive been looking for for some time now, every time i posted questions i did not get positive answers, just that they would not improve the look cos the car is shite.

Hey thanks for that. However im in the uk, so all my parts are for a rhd car anyway lols :)

Are you sure your chassis code says EM1? I thought that was only the north American SI coupe.

Nah, American Si, Canadian SiR, and Euro VTi Coupe are all EM1.

I believe at least some were Canadian made too. Most North American Civics are made either in the US or Canada.

Actually my VIN plate only has the VIN on it but there are a few places on my car that say Honda Manufacturing of Canada on it.

Here, if your VIN starts with 1 or 4, it's made in the US, if it starts with 2, it was made in Canada. 3 is Mexico, J is Japan, D is Germany and I really don't know any others. But I'm not sure about the differences outside the US. I just know this is true for cars in the US. Mine and my parents' Civic start with 2 so they are Canadian and my old 95 EJ1 Civic started with a 1 so it was made in the US.

*And I just looked it up and apparently they made the EM1 in the US, Canada, and Japan.
