hi guys

I need a new battery for my Ek9, I believe Honda don’t stock the original battery anymore so what do you guys suggest?

Cheers

I've been using The Battery Guys for years now with no issues so far, as long as it's got a warranty you should be good
Mine being a Motolite gold and brothers is a Solite, no problems

Thanks guys, do you have any links to these batteries? To make it easier on my lazy ass?

If you intend to go to Halfords just take your old battery along with you and they will cross reference it, or take a picture.
Pretty simple really.

Thanks mate I did think about that but my car is dry stored a few miles away and was just going to order one online but I suppose I should just stop being lazy and go take it out the car. :nice::thanks:

No problem mate, even if you buy one and it's not suitable just take it back and exchange for another, as long as not used.
The thing is online they don't always show all their products so one might think they don't sell certain things.
You would be looking between 60-80quid for halfords brand or yuasa, the good thing is their warranty is quite long compare to other outlets and there's no messing around.

Yeah I think your right Halfords is probably the best option atleast I can take the battery in with me and they can cross check it. Just need to get my finger out!

Done a bit more searching and this battery seems to fit Bosch s22, it looks like it has the smaller terminals that the Ek9 needs and compared it to the s23 model (which fits the vti) and the terminals on that are much bigger

S22 model
Bosch S4 Car Battery Type 155 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005XVTZN4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_1sF7BbK0T8WB8

S23 model for vti

Bosch S4 Car Battery Type 043 / 159 / 057 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005XVU0ME/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_KOF7BbVBFYXNB

It’s like half the price on amazon compared to what other places are charging for it.

Ah no way, didn't realise the ek9 had smaller terminals! wonder why that is.. but yh I've heard good things of Bosch products too :nice: nice find

Well took the battery out my car tonight and this is what was in (this is obviously a stock image from the internet) doesn’t seem like a great quality battery and it’s tiny (don’t think this is the oem one either).
