so I'm in the middle of pricing up my turbo build and seen a manifold which in nearly 100% that I'm gunna buy, but want to know what turbos is best to use on these b18 engines I don't want a water cooled turbo just an oil cooled one will do me fine so as above what are people running?

How long is a piece of string?
End power goal will help size your turbo.

Ok well I'm hoping for anything from 300-500 bhp so want some a good reliable turbo

Even that's quite a broad range to size a single turbo.
Your aware 500 will mean forged pistons and rods at a minimum?
Your stock block may be good for 400 for a while but I think you'll struggle to find a tuner that will willingly push one that far.

Also a budget is clearly quite important to you so knowing what that is would help.

Right so you wanted reliable, oil cooled turbos on the cheaper end of the spectrum.
Personally I rate garrett turbos and always have done.
Here are two of their T series units.
I've linked a 400hp one as I've a feeling you won't be forging the engine anyway.

Now the next one is probably what I'd actually go for with your restraints.
It's a bore Warner airwerkz S series turbo. These are a much more current turbo but still fit your bill

If these are too expensive then your probably going 2nd hand or to China for your turbo, neither of which are likely to be massively reliable

I'm wantin drive ability not stupid amount of power when I have no grip at all, at this moment in time no cash for forged Pistons etc until nxt ye when I save up some cash my plan is for car, fit engine, manifold, turbo, wastegate, intercooler and then have it mapped for road take to drags n I will be happy then nxt ur do more to it adding more power etc so just want a
Decent tubby that I can call on when I need to power that's all,
