Hello peeps I'm new here but I really need your help. I bought a s4c gearbox and basically when I'm driving at a constant set speed it make a whining noise. I need to know is it the LSD is gone or that is something normal. Thanks

When you push the clutch does the noise stop? It could be the clutches bearing, or some bearings in the gearbox, or the diff. I think if the noise comes from the diff it will keep making the sound even when moving in neutral.

I know it not the clutch bearing coz a brand new one been installed. I think it the diff but Is that somthing normal or does that mean the diff is on it way out?

Some said to me that it could be input shaft might not been installed properly. Could it be that?

I try recording it but don't know with exhuast will help lol. I didn't fit the gearbox my local mechanic did the job?

it could be bearings on the inputshaft,i have heard that the mfactory gearset make a slight whine at low speeds in 4th or 5th,mabye it has some sort aftermarket ones??

theDohc - the whining nosie comes when I'm in third or fourth gear and I put my foot down on the clutch while I'm driving in them gears the nosie goes away the and the nosie goes away aswell when I'm rolling in neutral. It sound like a when a washing machine about to start spining at low speed. I don't think it has any aftermarket gears. My friend reckon it same problem input shaft or bearings are gone.
