What's your reason for buying one?

Me? Because it's such an under rated car, and i have a soft spot for the EK shape:nice:

Don't have mine anymore. Main reason I did buy it was, at that point they were quite rare. Almost 190bhp from a 1.6 and LSD gearbox. Handles really well, had nice goodies such as Recaro's and Momo wheel etc... Always loved driving my car on the edge...

Black9 did you like the car as standard or did you do any suspension upgrades ect ? i know a lot of people go for coilovers and wondered if it makes the car handle better or is just for the low look

It was a money investment partly for me, i could have bought a 55 plate Clio Sport for the same price, but now that would be worth £3000 ish were as the EK9 would probably fetch £5000

Rarity

No one knows about them

Love the looks of the 9

And its old, not to many electrical sensors, and if something goes wrong i can fix it, rather than the garage charging me a fortune to plug their laptop in

A brilliant all round car, always loved the EK shape, very impressive power as standard from an N/A 1.6, drive like a raw car, comfy interior, always put a smile on your face.

Iv wanted one since high school after seeing a picture of one. I honestly never thought I'd own one. Now I do I see what the fuss is about. I know a car should be driven but I rarely drive it, I'd rather sit in the garage and wax it all day!! :D

Love how it 'is' the original Type R concept, light, has the best chassis out of any car I've owned, rare, looks, only people who know their cars know what it is :wow: huge tuning potential and not complicated to fix/maintain, practical!

Kept the suspension stock, no coilovers etc... Stock susp is all u ever need on the road IMO and prob be suffice for track days too

coz an EK9 is a bad mans car innit blud!!

But seriously they are awesome fun to drive mainly, parts are pretty cheap and they are underated, especially on track ;)

i have mine because i was getting sick of driving the evo 5 i had at the time so i swapped it for a facelift ek9. that was just over 4 years ago now. i will never sell it because they are a great little car & lots of fun to drive imo
