Why sportscar racing will always be better than F1.

As poor as it is.... it was and STILL IS... the only form of motorsport that parts come down to the road car level....

Anti lock brakes....
Traction control....
Carbon ceraic brakes....
Aerodynamics....
Carbon fibre....
so it has its use's....

A lot of the tech comes down to road cars but it's not the only form of motorsport where the development comes down to road cars. Audi championed and proved what Direct fuel injection could do with the R8 at Le Mans and proved what diesel tech could do(unfortunately) at Le Mans along with Peugeot. F1 this year has been a lot better than previous years, China and Canada have provided astonishingly good racing but FIA GT1, ILMC still edge it. It also helps that the cars don't sound the same and near enough look the same.

I just find F1 very boring, theres none of the excitement of touring cars or rallying, yes wow F1 cars are rediculously quick and handle amazingly but watching touring cars bumper to bumper, hammering it around a track is way more fun to watch!!!

if you guys think f1 is boring i want to hear you opinion about nascar ( I HATE IT WITH A PASSION )

How can you all say F1 is boring, you clearly don't appreciate the technology that goes into it or the skill of the drivers
Yeah touring cars are fun to watch but how is it more interesting than F1?

F1 has picked up over the past year or so, China and Canada have provided some of the best racing since the early nineties but the cars look too similar and sound the same. F1 is practically a spec series and while the cars are very advanced and blindingly quick they feel nothing more than sped up louder F3 cars. F1 in the 80's and 90's had it right, the cars each looked pretty damn different, had different engines (4 and 6 cylinder turbos, V8, V10 and V12 N/A engines) and had enough aero to put quick but not soo much that overtaking was difficult and the cars squatted and moved around a lot. If anyone wants to know how a single seater formula needs to be done look at Superleague formula. After seeing them last year they are hands down better than F1, despite being a spec series the racing is good and close all the time and with howling V12s instead of tinny V8s helps things a lot.

As far as touring cars go, they used to be better than F1. Super touringcars of the 90's were incredible to watch, anyone remembering the howling 5 cyliner Volvo's belching massive flames on the over run and the savage induction growl of the Primeras and 406 Pugs. Then you had DTM which was off the scale awesome, flame throwing, spark throwing monsters with earth shattering howling 6 cylinder engines. Current BTCC and WTCC cars are just a bit too tame IMO. Although, the turbo cars are more entertaining as they sound and go much better.

IMO FIA GT1 and ILMC is where it's at, it has the loud monstrous cars at great tracks that look different and sound different. Variety is the spice of life and it's what draws a lot of people to sports car racing. Plus, anyone who watched any of the GT1 races last year will know the racing is superb. Hell, Evo and Autosport voted the best race of the year last year the Portimao round of the GT1 championship so just goes to show about F1 really.

Awesome vid, classic car!

BTCC is quite entertaining, more closely related to our hot hatches thn F! and Leman etc, Canada was a fantastic race!

No matter what f1 will always be leagues above any other racing division. Having all the resources and brain power guarantees its dominance.

Think it's pretty hard to compare f1 to touring cars and le mans, the money involved in each is massively different. As said before f1 is seen as the pinnacle of motorsport because of the money involved and the technology that filters down eventually into road going cars, although I think every motorsport will have some form of technology in road going cars, most of it comes from F1 as they have the money to develop the technology. I prefer touring cars and rallying myself as they are cars you see on the road tuned up and touring cars offer so much action.

F1 has been much better this year but not sure how good it will be when the new regulations and 1.6 engines come in.
