Hi, I’ve been a long time reader on here and finally decided to post up my current project. Not sure if it’ll be up your street or not!

This is my second car along with my EK9, I've been into Hondas for years but fancied a project to do along side my EK9. This Toyota Aristo came up locally, I had been looking at GS300s for a while and this having the 2JZGTE in it made it much more appealing. The only problem with it was the rusted rear arch however that didn’t really bother me with the plans I had for it.

First weekend of owning it a service was carried out along with a machine polish.

The standard wheels then went back on as I’m really not a fan of stretched tyres.

New tyres were then put on the Rotas, and after a long wait the wide arch kit I ordered finally turned up!

The rear arches were then cut, welded, seam sealed and then undersealed to make sure the rust would not return.

A quick trial fit was then carried out on the rears.

The front arches were then trial fitted along with the wheels with the new tyres, they still need spacing and some camber added. But it’s a work in progress!

The arches were then riveted and sealed on and the car lowered back down.

Next was the big stage of prepping the car for paint.

That brings it up to date. It should be going in for a full re-spray beginning of June hopefully. Then the final touches can be added ready for a few shows this year!

That's gonna look pretty mean! Are you staying black? Nice job on the arches!

Thank you! Yeah its staying the standard colour. I was tempted by a metallic black but wanted the engine bay and door shuts still to match when it was finished

Ya would look miles better that way!

These 2JZ Aristos are well cool. Manual or auto?
Yeah definitely. I was actually looking at one on ebay twin turbo black one few days back. Super cool. Wouldn't mind one to cruise about in.

Thanks for the comments, didn't know how this would go down!

Its an auto but that doesn't bother me tbh, I've got the 9 for a hoon. This is just perfect for motorway cruising haha!

Once is painted it will be a world of difference
i like that kit, i like it a lot..

Love the big jap saloons
You got it right , B road car and comfy cruiser
Exactly the sort of line up I'm hoping for , would love a chaser but definitely want to own a soarer.

The v
VIP look is very appealing haha

Like what you've done with these, the old Toyota / Lexus can be picked up cheap, a lot of car for very little money , for example my mates £500 ls400

Spose I should update this a bit even though not much has happened!

New coilovers have gone on as the old ones weren’t the best!

Got the ride height just how I wanted it, also did a couple of things like fit new anti-roll bar bushes to freshen everything up.

Went for wider front tyres, it’s now got 285 fronts and 315 rears.

Standard wheels look kind of sunk in haha!

Then me old man decided to reverse into a wall, another thing to blaady sort!

Haven't had a chance to do much since this. Needs an MOT but where I've been out of the country for pretty much 2 months now I haven't had the time.

Plan is get it MOT'd, new split rims on and then in for paint in the new year. Just gonna pay a premium to get a perfect job and chuck it on the credit card haha!

Finally been able to get Shamu MOT’d and back on the road. After working away for 4 months I’ve just been too busy to be able to get any progress done. Since I’ve been home I’ve given it a full suspension refresh with new ball joints, track rod ends and bushes, drives so much nicer now.

The only interesting thing that’s happened is I’ve got the centres of the new alloys back from the polishers! I can’t wait to get these on now.

It’s booked in for paint end of next month so will be show ready very very soon!

Big update happening! Car is in for spraying, colour is finally decided on and should have it back in the next couple of weeks! Primer should be going on today. My old man popped in to send me some update photos from the spray shop as I’m currently away with work… Again!

I’ve done some more progress on the wheels, got the lips finally fully polished up and started to reassemble them!

Hopefully next time I post an update it will be back from paint and possibly have the wheels on…

Love this man. It's gonna be the kind of thing you see on canibeat! Beast.

Haha! Thanks :nice: Can't wait for it to be done and to do some shows with it now. Would love to get in a mag with it!

Update on how Shamu is getting on, good news is it’s all painted. Currently being wet sanded and polished to get the best finish possible!

I picked up the headlights from the spray shop to give them a wet sand and a polish as well.
