Hi guys I want to start working on my EK9 again I use to work on all my old cars but find getting to the oil filter a pain in the ass on the 9. On the Evo I didnt even have to jack it up to do this:shocked:

Tried axle stand but car doesnt go high enough & I always feel a bit sick being under the car & looking at these 2 pathetic struts holding the car up above my head :nono:

So I have been looking at ramps. Low profile ramps so I dont scrape bumper & found these
Sports car long low profile, low angle, incline lifting Ramps 2000Kg a pair | eBay

Anygood? Can anybody recommend some good ramps for EK9 or ideas on how to get a bit more room under the car to work on :)

If your car is anything like mine you'll catch on those ramps.
Perhaps you can use to lengths of wood to make the incline less steep?

I've got a piece of railway sleeper to lift the car up higher.

I have those eBay ones and they are brilliant, couldn't build them for the money with the pain in the arse of cutting it all and welding it all. I used some concrete blocks so I can get the car flat as well.

Ever thought about a oil filter relocation kit? I have one on my car and changing the filter is a doddle.

Did you buy from the same company mate? & does the ek9 go up with no problems? I'm tempted as like you say less faff.

Oil relocation kit is something I looked at in the past But still have to get under to drain & like the idea of doing other bits & bobs under the car hmmm

Thank you for replies:nice:

Had them for a couple of years so I don't remember exactly but the advert has the same pictures.

Far easier to change oil, could get under the car to paint on underseal from to back with a paintbrush by reversing/driving up them so good amount of room. Only minus point is that the car is angled so was never sure that 100% of the oil came out.

Cheers champion white Your cars still go tipton garage I remember seeing your brothers rally ek9 WEAPON

those ebay ramps say they only have a height of 10" ? thats pretty low is it not ?

I think its not to bad as the home made options out of wood I have seen only lift the car 6" Plus champion white has said he found them fine for oil changes /undersealing etc

Well I got the ramps & like champion white said they are perfect for the EK9
I now have loads of room for servicing/Cleaning/undersealing duties.
My Arc winglets are very close but still have clearance:win:
My car is stock suspension & 50" profile tyres

They look very useful. I'm not keen on axel stands either. May have to get some!

Axle stands scare the hell out of me Didn't help I watched some online snuff vidoes of them failing  I know 99% of the time they are fine but they make me feel sick when I was under the car with them lol
