hello everyone after thinking long time i have decided im going to get my y-56 ek9 resprayed fully after getting it a couple of months ago i have noticed stone chips the usual wear and tear etc maybe im abit picky but my plan is to bring it back to how it would have looked in the show room how much would any of you estimate a full respray in y56 would be i quotes like 600 to 1000 how much would you pay ? im also thinking of getting involved with the prepwork and strip down to keep the costs low.

many thanks ste

I paid around £1200 excluding paint.
And that was with my brother doing the strip and rebuild for £300.
The painter is the dear part unfortunately.

hmm will have to have a shop about i want it done cheap but dont want it to be a rubbish job. my other opsion is to show what bits i want doing and have it done that way but think it will be just worth having the whole car sprayed at the end of the day cause i know y-56 is an awkward colour to match up aswell. I guess im looking at doing some over time then haha its mainly the side skirts / front lip / front bumper / rear lip and bumper the bonnet and the wing mirrors plus a little surface rust starting to show up in the inner arches

many thanks ste

Just get the best painter....pay the money :nice:

Don't do it on the cheap and then have to get it re-done

Im currently getting a full respray left it in the hands of the best sprayer in Ireland but its cost me a good few quid but its better than paying a fair amount and getting a crap job! An extra few hundred can make such a difference! If your doing it do it right not cheap!

There is a body shop near me called diamond bodyshop who quoted me £900 for a re spray I think that's good :)

I got imy from I.a bodyshop to respray my ek9 y56. It's a beasty job but I it did have a £2000 price tag :(
