I’d like to get a few answers with paint

I believe sunlight yellow Y56 is the oem civic colour.

Is Phoenix yellow (sometimes referred to as PY56 any different to the civic Y56?

Basically my rear quarters were painted and it’s quite a bit darker than the rest of the car. The cars paint is also only 4 years old or less so the difference should be fairly minimal in colour. I believe they could have used the civic Y56 to paint the car. But before my ownership when the car was painted they may have used PY56.

I suppose I am also looking for a bodyshop in the Surrey area, not too far from TW15. I need someone to scan the paint and get a match as the bodyshop I used don’t have that technology.

Any recommendations appreciated

Paint itself is a mixture of several colors and therefore different blends are rarely exactly the same. Think of the paintsticks you buy afterwards to touch things up. There’s mostly a paint difference.

That’s why bodyshops need to use the base paint mixture but need to ‘correct’ it to the car using their expertise. A good paintshop can match it and uses overspray techniques. The result of a not so good paintshop can be paint shade difference.

Can’t you go back to that workshop, show them the difference and ask them to correct? They should apply warranty and normally they are insured for ‘bad’ work.
