Hi folks bought this little EJ9 last week cost me £300 :)

Has 94k on the clock not so bad for a 96.
Has a few flaws mostly rust patches, small dings and overspray I didnt notice when buying it.

Not sure if its had a small bump, definitely cant find any structural damage but os headlight mounts have been repaired, bonnet is a patten part as it feels very thin and underneath is still primerd and signs over over spray on wings other wise its not bad definitely cant complain for 300 quid.

Its totally standard, apart from mid section rusted away from back box so sounds like it has a larger exhaust lol

I might sound stupid but does tge d14a4 have vtec? Any good mods to do for free/cheap I have read a good exhaust, d16 inlet and good filter should get me 110bhp and under

only decent quick pick I just took of it

Good base lad for the money. as long as the chassis isn't bent it doesn't matter if she was hit its 96 at the end of the day. those are good mods for the engine you cant really get much outa of a 1.4 unless you turbo but still a respectable power for what they are

No the d14s don't have vtec, it's only on the vti and type r models mate :) good base to build upon there. You could get a decent intake and exhaust like you said but I'd recommend getting handling mods like coilovers or saving up for an engine conversion if you're going for speed. My mates 1.4 may be slower on the straights but it sure can take corners fast! just do some research and you'll find tonnes of info on the forums

Good moods for an EJ9 I found was a good 4-2-1 exhaust manifold with an exhaust system makes a decent bit of difference, I am running a k&n panel filter with the standard airbox and found this pulled better than when I had the short ram intake.

As said they can corner well if you have a set of decent tyres, lowered on springs/coilovers and a ek4 rear anti roll bar, this made a big difference to my car. As your's is a 96 it may not have a front anti roll bar so maybe try getting one from a facelift EJ9 or an EK4
