Depends on your cluster actually, some have a film on the back that will block any colour coming through giving off that red/pinky colour. To remove this you need to scratch the film off on the back of the numbers where the light comes through, think it's the pre face clusters that do this. Use acetone/nail varnish remover to do it, takes a while but eventually comes off. Be careful messing around the back of the cluster though, no idea what I did but I broke the temp gauge doing this and caused the gauge to always read hot.
