Have you tried running a dc2 airbox with cold air feed?
I had a aem v2 cai on my b16b it sounded mental but i didnt like the throttle response and it produced all its power high up the rev range.
I put on a dc2 airbox, i love the throttle response and power delivery is more smoother doesnt spike like the aem.

Yep im currently running the airbox, im still going to enhance it with a aluminium pipe instead of the oem rubber one.
What chassis have you got? I had to make a custom bracket to secure it in my ek9.
 
I have ej9 chassis, swap is b16a2 with b16b pistons... sorry aboat my bad englis, i am from Croatia
