anyone had this happen before ?
we were competing on the prom stages rally at the weekend in our new civic, which had a rebuilt engine and new gearbox, with new kaaz diff.
everything was going great, we were leading the 1600 class and beating a super 1600 corsa driven by a respected local driver with his new sadev 6 speed box,by a whole 8 secs, so we were really chuffed.
ran the car a little low on fuel and started to suffer fuel starvation dropping us 4's behind
big charge on the next stage but on a straight approaching one of the chicaines we lost all drive, the drivers side inner cv had come out of the gearbox !
no damage to the suspension, didn't hit anything, diff appears ok, the only thing i can find wrong is on the affected shaft, the outer cv is very stiff side to side, almost seizing
would this cause the shaft to pull out on full lock as there were a few tight hairpins ?
thanks
