Hi Guys! This is my 98 EJ9 civic which I will be building over the next 2 months before I'm on the road
1st August 2013
I purchased the 1.4i Civic off a friend locally. It was red with side skirts and a front lip.
It had some faults:
- Two wings had multiple dents
- Two quarter panels had multiple dents
- Steering wheel and boss needed replacement
- Rear windscreen wiper broken
- Crack in front windscreen
18th August 2013
I used body work filler to fill in the dents on both of my quarter panels. And sanded to prep for future painting.
I removed the windscreen wiper and the windscreen wiper motor to make the car look cleaner, the back windscreen wiper really isnt used anyway. I also filled in the holes from the former rectangle license plate. And prepped the panel to be sprayed black.
19th August 2013
We removed the back seats of the car and vacuumed the whole area the back, the seats, every nut and cranny.
We then removed the lights and removed all dirt from underneath the headlights and the seals. We then cleaned and waxed underneath the light.
After we removed and cleaned the lights we disconnected the exhaust back-box to remove the tar off it. We got a 120 gritt sand paper at the start and took off the majority of the tar. We then went to a 400 gritt sand paper and removed all fine pieces of tar and removed the deep scratches that the lower gritt paper made.
Once we shined it up we re-mounted it, all clean! I’ll be polishing this up with AutoSol Metal Polish the next day I’m working on the car.
Re-sprye the rocker cover in high temp spry paint. Was hoping it was gloss for the engine bay but ah well! sanded the HONDA logo then.
New floor matts and a radio with aux and cd functionality
Both speakers in the front we're different so there was unbalanced sound, loud on left, quite on right. Picked up two new speakers for 20 quid and fitted them straight away.
Plastic primered the license plate holder and sprayed it semi-gloss black.
Picked up 4 of these 16" MAK alloys for €50! They we're in dier need of repair so here we go.
Sanded down bit 50 gritt san paper, then 180, spraye some filler primer on all of them (4 coats, 2 light, 2 medium)
Got some matte white kotte paint d sprayed em up followed with 2 clear coats
Fitted them to my car and used some anodized purple extended wheel nuts my mate gave me
