Been a while since my last update! Lots has happened! First of all was the Ring trip, my god what a place.... it's car heaven. If you haven't been GO! Will be going back next year for sure!
Had an amazing time. There is a little write up on
@jesse888 thread about the trip.
And was great meeting
@Paintballer3000! Took me round for a couple of laps in his lovely ek9
I went out as a passenger in Jesse's car most of the time and my word, all I can say is boosted 9's are cool AF!
Cant believe I'm building one
So I've finished my downpipe, I welded the dump tube back into the exhaust, and incorporated a flexible joint. Really proud I've done it myself, #builtathome
Managed to get an nice direct flow hopefully.
My welds aren't perfect like you see on facebook! but I'm only a beginner..... it'll get better in time.
You will have to bare with me on pictures, as the new iso10 update destroys the link for photbucket so doing this update on my pc.
Also on the ring trip I agreed with Jesse that I'd let him tune my car, after being in his car I felt 100% confident in his tuning skills, ability and knowledge. So a hondata s300 p28 ECU is on its way, and I'm now going to be running an apexi avcr boost controller. Really looking forward to Jesse tuning it
So Turbo is back on the car, but! the dc2 radiator doesn't fit despite taking a tight ish angle on the dump tube.
So after a bit of head scratching and weighing up what to do, I decided to go with the Jesse tried and tested vw sirocco mk1 radiator set up. I've seen it work and it gives me a lot more space. so the rad came, and it fitted nicely but I wanted the rad to tuck nicely under the slam panel. So out comes the drill........
and the hacksaw.......
TADA!!!
loads of room now!
This is a bit of Volvo v70 door seal that I've used to sit the radiator on.
New rad going in, rubber cotton real mount's on the front panel, and some aluminium brackets that I made with the tig welder, m6 studs tapped into the radiator fan mounts.
stud mounts
I'm really happy with the new radiator set up, the mounts I've made work well, nice and strong but has a bit of give. Need to re mount oil cooler though.
This is only about half of my update, lots more has happened, all turbo cooling etc has been sorted and wastegate cooling. will show you how once I get some pictures.
I've also been very busy with work, I've actually landed myself a job at a local independent Porsche specialist! Big step up for me in my career, hope to learn a lot!
more updates coming soon!
