Hey guys, I've got a Takata drift III harness and they eyebolts to mount it as per the instructions but the eye bolt next to the handbrake looks far too close to fit. I've see others ask about 'how do you mount it there' but was wondering if the bolt sat a couple inches further back (should be able to see in the pic) would be a suitable alternative to where the factory belt is?

I took the seat out, replaced the bold holding the seat belt buckle and hit the exhaust tunnel until the seat fit back in again. Think thats the most common way to do it.

In an ideal world you want a mounting plate, mount it to the underside of the car and drill a hole and mount the eyebolt to that. I've got one sitting here but just not got round to it yet haha.

As above, drill your floor and use a plate underneath. You can buy them from demon tweeks for a few quid.

Thanks for the replies! I thought drilling a hole would probably the way to go, didn't really want to start messing about doing that but I don't want to smash the seat back in mounting it on the seatbelt point and risk chewing the carpet up moving the seat back or forwards.

That's why I wondered what the difference would be between using the seatbelt point or that other bolt slightly further back, as I could get an eye bolt in there without damaging anything. They are both mounted to the same piece of metal was how I saw it. Both of those probably not the most ideal compared to drillig a hole!
