Hi guys and girls,

New to the forum and really enjoying what I've read and seen so far. Definitely a lot more technical than most forums. Current car is a Seat Ibiza PD130. Used to own an EP3 but I had to get the derv for a 200 mile a day commute. Now thankfully I don't do that commute anymore, I'm hoping to get myself an EK9.

My EP3


One question that I'm unsure of...is the EK9 THAT good? Is it really that much better than the EP3? The only thing that puts me off is the lack of torque from the B16. I'm used to torque, my car before my the EP3 was a 350 bhp Ibiza Cupra!

cant answer your question as i drive an ek4 but
get a drive in one

Yeah a ride in one would be good! Give me an idea of the performance and handling.

The handling is where these shine. Don't expect much grunt from the engine but they sound sweet up in the revs.
A ride in one isn't going to tell you about the way these feel to drive.

Yes they are better,had an ep3 and the ek9 is far more of a drivers car. Same as dc2 type r a lot more raw and driver focused

I love mine,
I almost got to grips with the Low (ish) power aswell, then went and turbocharged it lol
But 200hp in an ek9 is good fun. I came from a 330hp astra so similar to yourself and I'd never go back!
