Jesse888 Forged/stroker turbo ek9

nice!!! goin balls deep with the build i see ha fair play this car must stand u rediculous money when its done u must upload a vid of a tunnel run :D

Hopefully I can keep the momentum rolling now that payday is tomorrow, assuming work don't mess my wages up as I've just changed job titles within the company.
Basically I'm due afew bonuses from working nights as they are paid a month in lue.

Haven't touched the abs wiring as of yet, ecu is still in the car aswell, just sorting the bay and then I'll take the ecu out and leave the wires where they are. As I said it's not a weight thing, the car will have plenty grunt to pull some wires along lol
Yeah the cars cost me a lot in the 6months I've had it. Was going to go k-swap before I turbo'd it but didn't because of costs. Now it's costing me more lol
Glad I'm turbo though lol

Update.
Got paid the money I should have,
Sold afew parts that aren't really suitable with this build and made the order to realstreet!
Order is
Wiseco pistons -9.96-1 compression
Manley rods
Injector dynamics 725cc's
Hondata 4 bar map sensor(for the highest boost setting on the avcr)
Oem Cambelt
Cometic headgasket 030
Full Bottom end gasket kit which I believe is Cometic also.

Gone with 9.96-1 comp ratio because I'm not shooting for high power and I want the power to come in linear as pos. This should help traction coming out of corners etc
Going with oem bearings but needed the rest if the parts so I can get all the clearances etc
Parts should be with me next week but I'm away so pictures will have to wait lol

Sweet stuff man. I have a valve clearance tool, valve stem tool and crank pulley holder if you need to borrow anything.

I won't be touching the head for now. Was in good condition when the bottom end went so going to leave it until I know the bottom end is 100%

Yeah me too jay lol
Got my pistons, rods etc but can't photo them as I'm on holiday ATM.
Just want to get back out on track, basically missed this whole year building the car. Only did 45mins at Bedford and 4 laps of the ring all year lol
Soon as I know my car will make it I'll try and get an ek9.org ring trip going, looking around late April early May 2015.

How does a b16b turbo feel? The vtec is already nuts i hear. What kind of power u aiming for or u want from the build? Loads of quality parts. Good luck and hope u have patience till its back on the track!

Yeah it felt like something was strangling the last engine, full boost was around 6k.
I'm hoping the larger displacement and less restrictive pipe work make a decent difference. Perhaps 1.5k is pushing it abit but I do believe I can pick up nearly 1k earlier.

Wasn't it mapped like that? As you wanted a linear curve? Either that or the turbo is way to big for what you want.

Abit of both really mate, I wanted a linear curve but romain did comment that usually you can spool the turbo earlier with a lower vtec point, but this didn't seem to happen with mine.
Turbo is a t3/t04 so it's large but isn't huge.

I loved the old engine! I was very happy with it right up until the second it melted.
Not really aiming for a power with the new build but will get multiple power levels through the boost controller.
I'm expecting figures from 270hp low boost (0.45bar) up to the max I can get out of it, not really sure because of the exhaust system is only 2.5" so I'm guessing around 350hp it will really be choking it. Will only get used on lower boost levels anyway, higher boost just for pub figures and pissing people off on the motorway really. Can't wait to hit the track again, need seat time!

Exactly my thinking

As you have drive now both turbo B16R and B18R, which one you like most?

I haven't driven the b18 turbo yet as it isn't built yet.
But from the engines I've driven
B16b
B18c6
B16b turbo
I preferred the b16b T

With a better flowing exhaust manifold that is possible, not with your current manifold.

BTW, If you haven't already ordered that Cometic head gasket I would recommend not to use that and instead get a OEM Honda head gasket. Not sure what the quality is like nowadays with Cometic gaskets, but going back 4-5 years ago people seemed to be having a lot of sealing issues with that brand head gasket.

Abit too late now with the gasket. I have a headstud kit I'll be using so hopefully that will help.
Will keep an eye on it, if it doesn't seal I'll use an oem one, thanks for the heads up though. Could save me some hassle trying to diagnose issues further down the line.
Fingers crossed they've fixed there issues and make decent gaskets now lol

Romain did mention a ram horn style manifold would help bring it further down. Really don't want to be faffing around with exhaust manifold cracks etc that seems to be quite common on those types of manifold. I was very happy with how the car performed before the engine went so I'm sure I'll be happy this time regardless.
