New car


FD2's are cool! Defo get one. I always see a white one about. Type R Owners forum would be good place to research them I reckon, but just impulsively buy one. I know I would (if I had the dosh). IMO the coolest modern Honda ahead of the CRZ lol
 
FD2 IMO is easily the best type R hands down. Drove my mates 2010 model lots if times.

Dont let the saloon chassis fool you into thinking they are fairly tame and comfortable. Its the exact opposite they are hardcore in evry sense. The oem suspension is ridiculously stiff, far too stif for the uk roads tbh. Was way more uncomfortable to travel in than my 9 lol
A fair compromise for the handling and road holding though, never driven anything FWD quite like it.

I also oved the fact they didnt scrimp out or cut corners at all with this R (except on the steering wheel and seats) they used hydraulic steering and indipendent rear suspension that are both unique to the fd2 when they could have quite easily used a beam axle and electric steering. Also found the brakes to be superb.
Only downside i could see that parts were very expensive!

If you can get one mate, do. You wont be dissapointed...
 
Hopefully Honda pay the same attention to the chassis of the new type r. Sadly I think the engine is going to take up most of the R&D budget they're going to want to spend.
Not heard anything about this Nurburgring record either. Take it they flopped? Or waiting till release date?

CRZ is cool though

FD2 will be amazing, never been in one, but they seem like the ek9 of today's world.

Seen a few RRs go up for auction. Now they are tip of the iceberg cool! This's if you have 32k to be shelling out on a civic :wow:

Haha yeah. I dislike most of the modern Hondas but in fave order of the modern ones have to be the FD2, CRZ and then probably the new Jazz's with the body kits that OAPs are kicking about in haha!

Yea Ally those Jazz Si that go about are cool and yea it is old folk that always drive them! Lol
 
Just back from a day at my mates blasting around in his FD2, what a car btw!! Hugely impressive in every way. The best looking saloon hands down. So comfy and the ride was not harsh at all. He has a nice set up of oem shocks and springs on front and koni yellow shocks and ast springs on rear. Felt amazing and handling was as good if not better than my ek9!!!

Very very fast car, so tight and rigid and vtec sounds like a b series. Engagement is 5.8rpm so plenty roar!!

Am in love! Torque GT are going on th hunt for me end of this month! :) :) :)
 
All the best with finding the right example - I'm sure you'll find a stunner. Any preferences colour/spec wise?
