Race Base Facelift EK9


How's the diffuser coming along? I think it's an awesome mod and isn't common on the 9's. I'm looking forward to the video :nice: . You're lucky to have nice roads, the roads this side are terrible haha. :D
 
Well ill have the diffuser fitted over the weekend, i dont get home from work until 8pm to work on the car. Sorted out the guage memory, they have peak warning and recal functions. There green day/night and the warning is set at 120 degrees oil temp and if the pressure drops below 14psi. They flash red, turned of the LOUD warning beep as it was too much. If you hit the peak button it shows the highest reading recorded.

Water temp is dealt with using by techtom cmx100: plugs directly into the obd diagnostics port, displays map, volts, rpm, speed, ignition timing, error codes,intake air temp, and most of all water temp!

So i have a digital display from cold for water temp, also ofc have the standard temp and pressure guages.
 
Would you mind adding a few pictures of the diffuser when its finished? And it sounds like you have everything covered with all the gauges. Approximately how many hours do you have left to work on the 9 when you get home from work?
 
Usually an hour before its dark, but all weekend. This weekend she will be done, nps ill photo the diffuser. Having to space it down a bit at the rear where it uses the 2 center bumper brackets as otherwise you tighten the bolts and it puts stress on the bumper and makes the diffuset sit wonky.
 
Just an hour! Geez man how do you get it all done? Much appreciated. Can't have a crooked diffuser with the rest of the car looking so proper.
 
I usually spend the weekends on it, frustrates me looking at the car sitting in the rain. Goner get clear the car out tonight and get the bumper on if its not raining.
 
Luckily you're more than halfway done with the car. And when the cars done you can spend weekends actually driving it. :D Can I ask you a question about the prices you guys pay for your 9's? Well here in SA the Civic VTEC you'll know as the EK4 is still selling for ±R90 000, think that's something like 7500 in your currency. I saw a 9 for sale on the forum not so long ago for that same price and almost lost my mind. So what's the average price that side for a 9?
 
Average price is around 6200 i think, pre facelift is a bit cheaper. Ek4 can be purchased for about 1500 for a ok one. Ye todays the big day! Go pro is rdy.

I thought all race base nines came without the tinted windows, or is that just the pre facelift race base cars?

Cars all ready. Today i rebuilt a 59 plate astra my mate crashed after 2 days ownership. Had to fit a new rad, air con rad, bumper, and i had to strip the bloody water pump as it was leaking. Fml i hate vauxhalls, every bolt was an odd size, and there was no access. Aircon, water pump and alt where on 1 big **** ahx belt.
 
Currently in my mates garden, just celebreted the ek9s return with a bottle of moet.

Also answer to feesh comment, this car has had a film window tint fitted on the rear. It still has original clear glass
 
That road is nice and open for a lane isn't. Fairly straight aswell!
 
Ye some nice roads in essex. Just enjoying not driving the audi and having some vtec
