alright people looking for some help, recently installed windows 8 on my computer and since doing so i can only be on here for a couple minutes and it freezes, any other site or anything is fine having to use my phone the now and its a pain in the arse. Just wondering if im the only one who is having this problem and what i could do to sort it. Not great with computers to be honest but know the in's and out's. Any help to sort this would be magic guys. Cheers in advance (if anyone can help lol)

Alritey bud , have you tried using any other web browsers firefox , google chrome , opera or that . And is the window Explorer the most up to date ?

Dont know id this would be any help , hopefully someone with greater knowladge will be along soon Lol
 
yeah well was using vista for donkeys and everything was sound and thought id upgrade to windows 8 just for the hell of it and now everything is fine part from this site, just seems weird, thought it was the site but appears not. I'll wait and see if anyone can come to my rescue and get some + rep :naughty: lol
 
Windows 8? Do you mean internet explorer 8?

Since you said vista I assume that you upgraded to Windows 7. Have you installed the hardware drivers?
 
haha sorry im a tit, upgraded to explorer 8 still on vista.

Told you i was **** with computers lol
 
Oh ok, as mentioned above have you used another web browser to see if you still have this problem?

You can try clearing out internet explorer data.

  • Open up internet explorer 8 > press alt + t
  • Then press 'o' this should open up the internet explorer properties.
  • Under Browsing history click the delete button.
  • Another window will appear, tick all the check boxes and click delete.
  • Then close the internet options and come back on ek9.org to see if you still have problems.

Let us know how you get on.
 
Cheers for the help tried those things still the same now the Same thing is happening with my phone using the birds phone lol so cant just be my computer, no one else got this problem ? Cant use the site really the now and its a pain
 
When you are using your phone, are you using the wifi in your house?

It could be your internet connection. Maybe try restarting your modem and or router.
 
Na my phone doesnt use the wifi and my birds phone is ok, just weird how it was happening with the computer now my phone, as I said only this site everything else ok :((

Is it when you look at posts with alot of pictures in?
 
na its strange, when i 1st stick my computer on and come onto the site its fine i can sign in ok and that but once i've clicked on a couple things (posts etc) it freezes. Although the page still moves and that but clicking on anything does nothing, then if i close the page and try and come back in it dowsnt let me like from google or bing clicking on any link for ek9.org nothing happens then if i leave it for an hour or so i can get back in for a couple clicks and it all happens again. Was sure it was my computer but when it then happened with my phone last night totally puzzled me lol. Dont really wanna change to firefox or anything just now cause explorer has been fine for me for years would rather solve the problem but its proving tricky :((
 
eh bit of an odd update been on for about 20 mins and seems to randomly be ok so far, so eh.... dont know i aint done anything lol, i'll see how it goes if all is well i'll wrap it up and +rep all concerned :D
 
Change to google chrome or firefox.
I know you said you'd prefer to stick with explorer but the others load up sites so much quicker.
Try them out, if you don't like them just remove them.
 
Might be time to do some virus, spyware, adware and maleware scans.
 
Just use Mozilla firefox, its a million times better
 
cheers guys, thought it was sorted, was fine this morning but back to the same **** again, will try chrome or somethin just seems weird. Security is fine got alsorts of anti virus and stuff running all scans show ok, will try something else than explorer and see how i get on, cheers
