Hey guys need help !
Just got a 98 ek9 trying to get ready for the next track day
I'm doing a stroke with a b18c (non type r) crank an rods
Puting it in my b16b block and get it balance
Would it be better using the b18c block or the b16b block?
What pistons should I use the b18c or b16b?
Do I need a engine balance for this built?
Can I use a itr ecu an tune it wit a vafc2?
What else do I need to do for this built ?

Thanks for your help guys

had a b16b stroked with b18cr crank and rods kept the ctr pistons for more compression i had it with ctr cams and was fast enough i didn't have a chance to get cams but id say with a different set of cam it would have being a lot different

if you have a ek9 with a b16b keep the bottom end for insurance reasons :D

this should help you aswell

I would go for:

Block: b16b or b18c sure they share the same bare block.
Pistons: b16b
Balance: YES
Management: you could use a vafc with p73 but obviously a stand alone system would be better.

B16B and B18C use the same block.

If you stick with B18CR pistons on the B18 rods and Crank you will be able you use a standard ITR B18C ECU.

If you run the B16B pistons you will be bumping compression a fair bit. Thus needing a decent map realy.

Balancing is not fully needed, but will only help the engine anyway, so may aswell be done at same time if you have the cash.
