0-60 YAY or NAH

yes it does but top speed isnt important to lot of people, the itr topped out at 120mph, ek9 would prob be about same but gettin there would be amazing

I got a 0-100kmph of 5.49 seconds in mine :nice:

few small mods and a 4.9 final drive :nice:

wtf?! What mods you got?? You do realise you are talking about 0-100km and not 0-96km?

I'd very much like mine to do 0-100 in 5.49secs. Can take out so many V8's etc.

Back to the topic... Mine does 0-96kmph(0-60mph) around 6secs or less. I have mods but worned clutch and 2 broken engine mounts. Wait till I get it back when it's alllll done... :D The weakest and most critical part of the EK9's 0-100 would have to be the launch, because of it's low torque figures and needs to rely on weight. A good launch can easily shave more than 0.5 secs...

Also someone said something about the location around the world, fuel, air and compression. This is very true! And especially from a 1.6L 4cyl. There will be less variations with a bigger capacity engine. Also if the engine's compression ratio has reduced from wear etc then that makes big difference.

Best way to argue with your friends is to settle on the streets with a rolling start... I beat mild WRX's and gain on Holden 270bhp V8's. So take that as comparison.

But I still like to know how elmo;8400 can hit 5.49secs 0-100 from his ek9?!

So with a 4.9 final drive, what speed does the end of 2nd gear read out?

Manosek9: don't leave mate, everyone has already voted... hehe

What about the new Volkswagen Fox, that bad boy does 0-60 in 3 days, now thats impressive......

lol sorry a thought ad add a bit of humor 2 this very heated argument lol

yea i reckon the vw fox could take an ek9 at the lights anyday:lol:

We have a 1.3 L Automatic Renault Megane of 65 bhp!!
And its hell fast!! Imagine that, I've drag raced it with my EK9 and it can be barely seen to the horizon, well......as soon as you turn well back your head!!

Well the 5.7 was probably clocked in Japan, with their high octane fuel

I have heard this this is a large factor in terms of acceleration times, don't know about the accuracy of this claim. Perhaps someone who actually passed chemistry at school :)angry2: ) could confirm thisbut im sure the hotter something burns the more energy therefore speed it produces.

But im not certain.

Does any1 know what the top speed of an ek9 is meant to be? My ek has 50k miles on the clock (perfect running order as far as I know) mugen twin loop exhaust, aem short ram intake and a spoon 4-2-1 manifold and its gets to 60mph very quickly (no idea in seconds) but once I have it in 5th at 130ish, there is just nothing left? Is that normal?

Thanks.

Hello all can you clear up an argument i am having with my mate,

he has a seat Ibiza Cupra R 1.8 Turbo with lots of mods

he said that the best launch he can get is 6 seconds to 60
and no way can the ek9 can do it in 5.7

can anyone back this up or verify that the Ek9 can so I can shut him up :angry2:

Cheers folks

Adam

:nice:
i have just raced a seat ibiza cupra with a claimed 215bhp, beat him once, nailed him. pulled up sayin it wasnt runnin properley so i said i would let my brother (another 14 stones) sit in the car too, raced for the second time and what a suprise i nailed him. the fit blonde in the passenger side give me a cheeky wave too!!:):nice::)
