1.6 d series induction???

do i have to buy a proper induction kit with the tap in for the air flow, or can i just make my own? not sure on the whole thing. thanks
 
was thinking about doing this myself, putting together a cold air intake out or 3" stainless pipe. as far as i see it is not as cheap as i thought and have decided just to get a proper one. but to answer you question i see no problem making your own. just make sure the sensor is in the same position on the intake and the same depth in.
 
Are you on about a d16 with a turbo set up? From what you said it dosnt sound like u are just this is the FORCED induction section.

If your n/a i would say u Cant realy beat oem box with a drop in filter, resonator box removed and cold air feed.
Personaly i dint see much point buying an expensive induction kit for a d-series motor, is it a d16z6?
