My friend bought a 1.6VTI back in June and has been paying £2950 a year to insure it.. I thought this was a bit much, so thought id ask on here for the best insurance companies to check out..

Shes 18, 0 points but has had a recent claim on her EJ9 that she just sold in february..

Just wondering if any of you know any good companies to try as shes going to have to sell if she cant find a cheaper quote :nono:

Thanks in advance for any help! :win:

who is she with? mite be worth talking to sky insurance there on the forum seem to be getting decent deals and a here green light is good

thats really good my gf cant get anything less than £3000 on a 1.1 saxo or 1.2 corsa
and i know a lad who is going to pay £5500 on a 1.2 corsa sxi and not the corsa c i meaan the old old corsa b

funny thing is he is crazy enough to pay it its like 400 pound a month and a £2000 deposit

If she is 18 tbh mate I wouldn't bother with a 1.6 never mind a 1.6 honda, maybe better to build up her no clain 1st buddy unless she can afford to pay that shockin price!

Insurance is crazy now a days, although VTI's are quite a high insurance group. I found Elephant,Admiral,Bell to be the cheapest insurance for young drivers. They all use the same underwriters however do vary slightly in price with their quotes.

Sorry but Sky insurance are a load of sh!t. All this crap about them beating prices if you're with a car club. When I got my vti at 20 they were £350 more than Admiral. Whichever way you look at it, that is a lot of money.

Elephant, Admiral, Direct line, More than and Swift cover are her best bets.

try bell direct aswell as whats said, elephant, admiral

i think when you make a claim, premiums go up aswell.
try adding more people to the policy, like her mum and dad even though they may not be driving the car but it may lower it by a bit.
