I have exhausted all my resources with trying to get this car back to the states at a reasonable price. It's just not going to happen. I'm going to be moving towards the end of May and leaving the country again towards the middle/end of June. There is no MOT or Road Tax on it. The car is currently SORN'd and will have to be taken away on a trailer. It should pass MOT fine (I can't guarantee it will because I haven't seen it in a long while), but I'm not going to MOT or TAX it just for sale.
I bought this car in Japan back in March of 2011. I had it imported to the UK and I am the only UK owner. It has never been totaled and has had zero insurance claims against it. I have my paperwork from Japan, the importation paperwork, and all UK paperwork.
I have been in talks with a member on this site about sale, but I really need a guarantee that it can be picked up sometime between May 11-26. I am currently out of country and will be back sometime before the 8th. Again, it is SORN'd and does not have MOT or Road Tax. It needs taken away on a trailer.
I am an adult owner. I rarely drove the car hard. I usually kept it below 4500 RPM, but would hit VTEC occasionally. I haven't seen the car in a little over 6 months (again, currently out of country) so I'm not 100% on it's current condition. My wife has started it and let it run every other week if not every week during my absence. It has sat with a car cover on during this time.
Now that the background and reason for sale is out of the way:
1997 Honda Civic Type R
18X,XXX KM (never converted to miles)
Problems:
Dent by the right rear tail light. I think someone hit me in a parking lot (car park). I was quoted 120 GBP for repair. Front bumper has damage (see pics). I've been looking for a preface lift front but just ran out of time. I was ran off the road by a lorry and curbed the front left rim. Rim is not out of round. Exterior will need a good clean. Interior may need a good clean. Needs a new Air Filter. Fluids will need changed. Engine bay needs a good clean. Crack in center console. Stickers fading/peeling. Emblems Faded. Gauge cluster faded. Getting up there in mileage. Bride seat has a tear in it. I had noticed small surface rust spots starting to show up in the right rear wheel well. there was two of them about the size of a pinkie nail. A small surface rust spot in the boot about the same size as well. The weather stripping on the drivers side door started popping out-but not leaking.
Mods:
Body Kit front bumper, JASMA stamped Fujitsubo Giken Co. Ltd Exhaust, JASMA stamped Fujitsubo Giken Co. Ltd Manifold, Cusco Coilovers, Gram Light Wheels (believe 57C), Cold Air Intake (I'm not sure the brand), Have a Bride Zeta III with Bride side rails not installed, Have a APEXI Power FC and Controller not installed, and a good center console to replace cracked one. Replaced left rear wheel bearing-rotor and pads. Still have new front rotors and 1 rear one ready to install, plus pads. 2 new front tires put on in September. *forgot to add that a Recaro driver side Low Seat Rail (solid piece version) is installed.
I haven't noticed smoke while driving, but there has to be some considering the mileage. Never experienced any gear grinding or issues. Car pulls strong and runs great.
This is not a show car and I am not trying to sell it as one. I'm being as honest and accurate as possible in my description. If you have questions, I'll do my best to answer. I believe I am listing it at a fair price and am not accepting offers at this time.
