1997 Ek4 headlight adjustment help

Hi guys, I have just fitted some standard headlights back on my ek4 to replace the horrible halo items that were fitted. The problem I have now is that the lights seem to shine directly to the ground. My car is fitted with the adjusting switch by the centre console but this dosen't seem to work, anyone got any ideas? I have followed the workshop manual and tried to adjust the lights manually myself but the driverside light aint adjusting up. Anyone got any advice? Im wanting to try and get them roughly right then take it to a garage to test them.

Did you reconnect the plugs for the adjustment motors? What position was the switch in when you did? Maybe try disconnecting them, press the switch to 3 then reconnect and move it back to 0 which is the normal position.

When adjusting the cogs you want to be turning both sides anticlockwise to bring em up :)

What blitz said, unless both your adjusters are both knackerd
