Been a minute, life’s busy and I’ve been enjoying the b16 in the car, and it’s been running overall well, couple small bits needing worked out

Very recently, I started a traditional Osaka style livery And still to fill up space with some more stickerage, and just this weekend, I had my brother weld me up a full custom stainless cat back for the car, the old system was more suited to the dseries in diameter to I’ve now upsized to accommodate the bseries, bought in all the steel and pie cut bends myself and just got him to weld it all together! And now we have a full true centre exit, and I think it looks sick ! Couple safety precautions to go on to help dissipate heat from near the fuel tank but here it is in all its glory !

In aid of going to Ireland in less than a few days now for the hiro racing track day, I’ve spent some time with better brakes, a full service and some gasket changes to fix a couple minor leaks, making sure she’s running right and doing what needs done, as well as that I’ve since added to the livery as well, still not 100% completed but she’s looking like it’s all coming together now ! Excited to finally get her on track

Finally got the civic on track!

It’s been a few weeks since the hiro racing track day, eventful to say the least !

ETA 12 hours till the ferry on route to do last min packing and preparations I had a 1 year old hardrace centre roll give out on me 30 seconds from the
House unfortunately taking out one of my enkeis, gutted, also ripped cv boot to shreds and damaged a cv joint, managed to nab a couple cheap budget balljoints to make do last min and had some help from the lads collecting and sorting it out for me and sent it as well as borrowing a pair of wedsport SA90s with tyres on since I lost a wheel due to damage

Apon arriving in Ireland my brakes were absolutely cooked too, mangled spring clips had destroyed my discs so again acquired some budgets in Ireland quickly to make do.

Trackday went overall really well, the car held
Up surprisingly well all things considered, barely touched oil use, no coolant loss, she managed a fair day of abuse.

First track day, never came off the course thankfully (a couple hairy moments) - maybe 8laps in the track had a small bit of wetness on the tar and I managed to kick the back end out massively on the same corner twice **** myself the first time, felt like a god the second time

As the day dried up it was easier to put the foot down abit and try my best to optimise my driving around the track

With the tyres heating up and the engine feeling healthy I was having a blast

It did however show me a lot of downfalls to the car and undoubtedly my driving, albeit giving me a major confidence boost in my driving and the car at the same time

The brakes being budget meant my breaking zones were earlier and longer than well set up slower cars
Budget balljoints and some general maintenance still needing attended to on the suspension side of things and having no alignment meant the car wasn’t handling its best but it did handle well enough to complete the day

Coming back I’ve since replaced my shafts due to the damaged cv joint

I now have my eyes set on doing more track days with it

And over the winter I would like to and am aiming to try and compile all, if not most of the suspension components, some braking upgrades and maybe some “track wheels” and a pair of p1s for my own personal endeavours, so that next year the car is completely different set up and much sharper

Next up for the car is actually aim to get her mapped properly, the 16a is still on a base file, hoping this changes the driving feel completely too

I've Type R brakes on the front of my EM1. Cheap blank discs and Yellowstuff pads. Works and its not overkill.

Did your car get flagged at all for noise?

Yeah man I’m looking into the possibility of ATR twins on the front, with the 1” upgrade cylinder, still need to disc convert the back too plenty to upgrade

And no! Thankfully not it was a small concern I had going into it was noise but they seemed happy enough for everyone to slap the limiters with some bangs and what not, happy days !
