Hi guys, I've been looking round here for the last month or so and got so good info so decided to post my build. I original bought this car in 2003 completely standard a 1998 1.4 and had a great 3 years and 50,000miles, never missed a beat. 6 years after I sold it, I had the chance to buy it back.
Here it is, exactly the same as when I sold it, with the addition of a few more dings, scratches, a lot of dirt and without the front lip and the TLC I used to give it.

The plan:

I already owned a 2000 5dr civic vti estate as a 2nd car which my girlfriend used to use to go to work and was perfect for tip run etc. I always said i'd put a b18 engine in the hb years ago but never got round to it so you guessed it....make two cars out of one!

How the pair of them looked unsuspectedly on easter weekend.

First job was to remove the 1.4 enginge, couldn't borrow a engine hoist till the following weekend so decided to drop the subframe and suspension as one as i plan on replacing as much of this as possible with the VTI's.

Was undecided wheather or not to remove everything from bulk head or just mask bits off....then relised its not worth tryying to rush it and its worth doing properly.
Engine baycleaned ready to be preped for paint. Not a good look considering i had only re-owned the car for 72Hrs ha.

Last weekend i turned my attention to the estate. Things got off to a bad start, only managed to get 2 of the locking wheel nuts off before both the key and the top of the nut completely dissintergrated on the passenger side front. All the normall wheel nuts needed heating and a 2m scaffolding bar so i'm blamming the monkeys in costco when they changed the tyres last for over tightenting.

Despite interuptions from the football and grad national i managed to get it out in the day :))

Backed into the garage ready for segury.

I want to try fit the estate subframe into the ej9 so that i can keep the sterring rack hubs etc. and although i've had a search around seem to be getting conflicting opinions. I had a quick measure on sunday night (cars being in diffent places isnt ideal, but better than doing it in the rain outside) and it seems that it is inly the 2 mounting point towards the front of the car that are different, the good news is that they lower in the estate so made a few trial spacers in work today out of stainless steel to hopefully solve the problem.

Has anyone tried to fit that subframe before or more importantly sucseeded?
