2.2 (H22) VTEC engine

it is a good set up for a eg or a ek but it aint something i would be doing to an ek9 prob the best handling front wheel drive car money can buy. the only other engine i would put in a ek9 is a b18c. i know a boy that has a crv 20 bottom end with a b16a head and is awsume loads of torque

well you see its onli a 1.4 at the mo i looked down the b18 roote and it was very expensive ar the b20 engines VTEC ?

27kgs is a lot for weight distirbution throw off. remeber that a K20A is 10kgs lighter than B-series with better power than a H22. This would be the ultimate and better than a H22 in modding aspects.

never knew that now that there 10kgs lighter there making sme imporvments the k20 roote as i said is very epensive and you would have to do some thing with the start button also

no they both had the standard h series box and they all blew them up lol.

those gearboxs seem to be very ermmmmm how to find the word "CRAP" :mad:they must be easy to blow up are they ?

well, yes they are crap, but my friends where also drag racing a lot.

any one got any ideas on how to improve handling with the h22

The only thing that can counter weight distribution is some very fine suspension tuning. Just like what they've done with the Accord Euro Type R in japan

well if its only a 1.4 you are running even the b16a2 would be a good upgrade. prob a good bit cheaper to. the best engine would be the k20 cause they have loads of torque unlike the b16 and 18. iv seen a crx with a k20 and it was running 2 secs faster than me on the 1/4 mile. i was running 15.3 with a b16a2 and he was 13.1. and like said they are a light engine so if you get a good conversion it will still handle very good

i got a h22A in my EK=)
no problems at all with that.. as good as a crx with b18 in the turns and crush them all in drag=)

what did you have to do to get your in ? were did you buy yhe mounts and what engine mods did you do if any ? is it an engine out off a euro R or a perule ?

u'll oso need some new and hard coilovers for the front or the head of the car will get too heavy and dipped

i used to have a h22 ek on boost, all this talk about it being to heavy is utter shite, get a decent coilover setup and its fine.

yeah dude there awesome with boost mine was running 300bhp on 6 psi, even though i had a few other mods on it

You hardly see any H22 swapped civics. Even so any H2B's. I would personally go with the H2B. So much easier to install. The H tranny uses cables to shift as oppose to robs from the B series.
I would use the car for drag and not track, unless you dial in the suspension right, but it could be done.
If you have access to the Euro Accord Type R motor i would go with that. Rated higher and will be easier to install being the same OBD system

Hi

I have a H2B dc2 i used the evolution industries kit would not reccomend, i would try the QSD kit.

I use stock suspension and do not find there to be a problem with the weight difference been to the nurburgring and seemed to handle well.:D

Cheers
Matt

I've always wondered about conveying to a H22 but its just the weight that puts me off

A fat motor the H22 is. It all depends on what you look to gain after the swap. Stock, you will have torque. I'm not too sure of the gear ratios, but with the torque produced by the motor, I'm sure it will not matter to much. But with an H2B conversion you will DEFIANTLY get the bang for your buck. Weight, I do not know the weight of any motor, but I heard the the H22 was only 18lbs heavier than a B-Series.
