Just done a 282mm brake conversion on the Jordan and to run the OEM jordan wheels you need 4mm or 5mm spacers.

I have fitted 4mm but I am concerned about the wheel bore not sitting on the hub as below:

This surely means the stress is on the 4 wheel nuts rather than the hub? I have had a look at H&R 5mm hubcentric ones but they look almost the same as the ones I have (flat with no lip) so there is nothing to correct this gap and have the wheel load on the hub??

Any help/experience/links would be appreciated as I do not have confidence in them under load

After a wee search, i think the best option might be 10mm spacers that come with hubcentric lip so the wheel load is on the hub and some extended studs?

Anyone had to increase spacer to bigger ones to solve this??

that center bit that sticks out is literally there just to centralise it. As soon as the bolts are torqued up it holds NO weight at all. As long as you do all 4 bolts up a little at a time the wheel will seat central anyway. The weight of the wheel is held by the face of the hub and the face of the inside of the wheel. As long as you have enough thread on the studs you're all good :) and ditch those d1 nuts they are a death trap!

Cheers for reply :nice:

So if i was picky, the only way to solve the centre-ing issue is the 10mm ones with the lip like below:

H&R Trak+ Wheel Spacers for Honda - larkspeed.com

along with extended studs as under 10mm there is not a lip on them, this will allow it to be centred on the lip like before?

D1's are getting binned, back to OEM :nice:

One of my volks just to show, it gets tracked etc etc

And my experience of D1 nuts (came with the car and this is what happened when I tried to undo them!)

Pretty much buddy yes. Can't put that lip on spacers below a certain size because the OEM center has to sit inside and then there's nothing for the new one to be machined on ;)

might have to look into the 10mm ones in the future then, as you said it ok to run without but it will just play on my mind its not on the lip! Just need to check if 10mm will cause problems with arch clearance etc

SHIIIIT!!! Thats a nasty D1! What you running now if you dont mind me asking? Look much better! :p

they are the buddyclub steel ones. Much better! As long as you do each bolt up a little at a time and work your way round just pinching them up to make sure they centralise you'll be fine. Its harder for cars with wheels bolts rather than nuts but you still have to be a moron to get it wrong. If the wheel was slightly out it would feel like it wasn't balanced properly when you get to like 60 mph. The only way to get it wrong is to put one bolt on, do it up as tight as you want it without putting any of the other bolts on!

Cool cheers :nice:

Least i know its not super dangerous, keep the 10mm soloution in mind for future for piece of mind :p

Keith, like James said you'll be fine.

If you do want something there to centralise the wheel, get a spigot made up if you dont have the room under the arch for a spacer :)
