98 spec box with ctr 4th and 5th

i have an 98 spec teg r gear box with oem ctr 4th and 5th gears fitted.
its perfect condition and is seriously nice mod.

the time comes for me to by the spoon sports close mission gear set.
I could just refit a 4.4 final drive but would waste a good 98 spec box.
a few guys have approached me to swap a standard ek9 box and cash for mine.

what sort of money should i be looking for. Standard the 98 spec box does fetch a few hundred more than the ek9 + i got the two other gears fitted.

any ideas

A few hundred? The cash difference isnt that big. A lot will depend on what else you had done on adding the CTR 4th & 5th, mileage on the box etc. Box alone £600 max seems reasonable. But people will pay what they want to pay.
 
this is it... i have no idea, the box usually is about 200 euro in the diff for ek9 vs 98 spec box, the gears cost me 300 and fitting from local gear box center was 150 euro.

i dont mind buying a stock 4.4 final drive and putting the close mission in as my box is mint, but if i can swap box for ek9 or 96 spec dc2 one in just as good condition and get a couple of euro it makes it easier for me.... one guy from my area really wants the box and he has a stock ek9 so i am just curious what i could get if we swapped.

i cant sell it alone because it is way harder to find good stock ek9 box. and i use the car regulary.
 
even with the gears? a sh fd fitted is alot more than 200??
if thats the case ill just sell fd seperate with all the gears
(ill prob get more than 200) with synchros etc and just get 4.4 and spoon set

lad i am going off what i have seen the 98spec box go for and ek9 box, so probably would get more off somebody that wants an s80 box with them gears

how much of a difference has the ctr gears made to the box?
 
drops 1000 rpm less 3rd two 4th.... same 4th to 5th.

with out the 4th mainly the drop is too much, changing at 8800 it nearly droped out of the vtec, with 4th it just below 7k

i would highly recommend it but i am after something more ha ha
