I am in the process of building a RHD EK9 clone and I realized I wasn't getting the fuel pump to prime. I then went through the process to verify all fuses under dash and under the hood are good. After that I went through the steps to troubleshoot the fuel pump relay for continuity as the service manual specifies and it was good. I also checked the starter cut off relay and that was also good. I am getting constant 12v to the fuel relay but when I turn the ignition, I don't get power from the Yellow/Red wire as it should be getting. So I started looking and realized a mismatch with one of my wiring harness (US cluster dash harness).

I have the following wiring harnesses:
  • RHD OBD2B Engine Wiring Harness
  • RHD OBD2B Main firewall/Dash Wiring Harness
  • EK9 OBD2B ECU
  • US 99-00 EK cluster dash wiring harness
I am not sure what dash/cluster harness is compatible with the main firewall/dash harness I have, as I have a US 99-00 M/T dash/cluster harness but the blue connector (C502) is missing wires that the RHD main firewall/dash harness (C411) has. One of them happens to be a red/yellow wire that goes to the fuel relay and since I don't have that wire and some others (not sure what they are for as I don't have wiring diagrams for EK9) the fuel pump relay does not get power from Ignition.

Does anyone have the wiring diagram for this connector? Or know what wires I am missing? Or know which harness would match this rhd obd2b harness?

on cars over here. ther is an inertia switch u have to press to allow fuel pump to prime again. its right behind the glovebox on the inside section. make sure your car has this and if it does press it. im not sure if all cars come with it.

Yes, I have seen that mentioned. I checked the main cabin harness and it does not have a plug or place for that inertia switch.

But I think you are onto something. Could the plug be located on the dash cluster harness? That would explain where those extra cables are missing on the dash side and why they are not completing the circuit for the fuel pump relay.

Does anyone have an up close picture of the inertia switch connector so I can see what color wires lead to it? I may have to jump it for now.

Ok, so I found that the Yellow w Red & Yellow w green are for the inertia switch based off a pic I found of the inertia pigtail. I am going to jump those pins and that should take care of those 2 missing wires. But I still have 4 missing wires (circled in red) and need to verify the one with a question mark.

Any ideas?

I did this exact conversion and I know EXACTLY your problem. I had the same issue and fixed it. The RHD rear cabin harness has different pinouts than the LHD rear cabin harness; I have absolutely no idea why Honda would ever do this but they did. The colors are still CORRECT but the location of the pins are in different positions. You just repin it and make all the wire colors match up with the front cabin harness pigtail. When I did this, it worked liked magic! Good luck!

Thanks for the reply Michael. I ended up finding out what my problem was today and finally got it running!!! My first problem was finding out about about the inertia switch and bypassing the switch wiring. Once I jumped it, I got power to the relay.

The next problem that took me hours of troubleshooting, was the pin 15 & 16 on connector “A” for the ecu for the fuel relay. Once I swapped the position of the pin, the fuel pump was able to prime and I was able to start the car. The car has RHD engine bay harness, rhd engine harness, RHD main harness and RHD cabin harness. One of the big issues was because I used a LHD cluster harness and it was missing some wires. However, now I have to check my lights because not all of them are coming on, just the front city lights and main rear top light on the tail lights. And yes, I do have a RHD turn signal assembly, but just have to check to make sure they match like you stated. Anyways, big relief to figure it all out after nearly losing my mind.
