a complicated ek9 question

hi all

recently i sold my 00 model ek9, and i am about to purchase anoth ek9 but its 98 model. a few things i have reaslied that is different in the car. i have onced stripped all the interior out of my 00 model ek9 before and the inside was all white and clean except for some white glue like padding in the back boot near where the spare wheel goes. This 98 model is championship white but after i stripped the interior its all black underneth and it has Sound denoting all under the carpet, and i hearld from a friend all type Rs never came with sound denoting, the vin number of the car matches the blue badge its all ek9. i was woundering if any pros can help me solve this question, i am abit scared its not a real ek9.

Remove the wiper arms and the plastic cover under those arm to unveil the other side of the vin number and check for any sign of tampered vin number.
 
Could this have anything to do with the 2000 model being an RX version (lighter version)?

Other than that, not sure.

Could see if someone on here with a 98 is willing to lift a bit of carpet on theirs?!
 
You can get race base model ek9s with no sound deadening....

ah the Rx wasn't lighter, heavier if anything as it came specced with keyless entry/electric retract wing mirrors/cd player/metal pedals as standard

i have a 98 pre facelift EK9 and i've had the carpet up before and there was NO sound deadening at all :woot:
 
The easiest way to tell is look under the back. Has it got the rear lower arm brace (between the inner mounting points of the suspention legs). Only the EK9 had this, check the metal mounting plates on the chassis are original fitment. If it has had a new quarter panel this could be black inside.
