Hi All,

i am fairly new, so the below comments arent meant to offend anyone or disrespect the club in any way shape or form. From what i have seen, the forum is run very well...these are mearly suggestions that could benefit all users :)

1st Suggestion - Club Shop

EK9.org should have its own shop. The majority of car clubs have their own shop selling its own brand. I think EK9.org should have one? In the shop, include products such window stickers, key rings (maybe a key ring that is a bottle opener, but sports the EK9.org logo...similar to cliosport.net (applogies if you are not allowed to advertise other car clubs, havent had chance to read forum rules properly. I'm not advertising ClioSport.net as such, but purely as an example), Stationary products (pens, rulers etc, you all know what i mean :nice:)

2nd Suggestion - Insurance Section

I believe this will help alot to those who are either wanting to buy a EK9 as their next car, or for those who wish to see what other people have been quoted on their EK9. I can also provide info on a list of Insurance companies and their telephone numbers and also Post Code info to see if you live in a high risk area or not (for United Kingdom based owners). Please note, this info can be obtained from another car forum from which has been successful, and I dont believe there any Copyright on this...if so, i shall not copy without permission

3rd Suggestion - Car Care and Detailing Section

Proved to be successful on many forums...and I can safely say there are a few people out there who love to clean their car in more detail than others ;)

4th Suggestion - Whats it Worth?? (can be in same section as For Sale/Wanted)

People can post queries asking other members what they think something is worth. Can be anything from Cars/car parts to general goodies people wish to sell i.e Games Console's, DVD's (legal ones), CD's (again, legal ones)

5th Suggestion - Sticky's (Coloured)

Having looked on the forum in the majority of the sections, I notice the sticky's are the same colour as other threads. Might just be me, but i sometimes find it hard to spot sticky's when skim reading, and sometimes click on them. If they were say in the same colour grey as the EDIT, QUOTE, MULTI and QUICK options, then people would know they are sticky's? keep the writing the same, but the back ground of the sticky's changed? Know what i mean??

Thats all I can think of for now, if i can think of any more, I shall edit my 1st post...what does everyone think of the above?

there are detailing forums all over the net no need to have one here,
this is more of a technical based forum in my mind,

rather see a 100 step how too`s on building an engines etc :)
than car polishing zzzzzzzzzzz

I do agree, there are detailing forums, but not everything works/shows up the same on all cars. You will find that some products are not as good as others on the EK9 where as on a different car like a Golf (as an example) it might work a treat.

Why not have a ''Complete'' forum with ALL info etc available for the EK9, not just the technical side of things?

Not everyone likes the thought of building engines, some people might like detailing of a car more than what you woudl like :)

Trying to fit too much into a forum in my opinion can make it a bit of a mammoth task to navigate, and can make reading new threads too time consuming, like honda-tech for example, great info but there is just too much going on for me to hang around there....

maybe put it into 3 sections....Brakes/Suspension/Transmission, Engine/Performance and Styling/Tyres etc...then make a thread to be stickied with all the links from the Website that people can click on? know where i am going with this?

Thank you for your suggestions, I will talk with other moderators to see the best way we can use your suggestions, I'm keen in the insurance and Club Shop suggestion, if you have more suggestions keep them coming!

i think most of us like the forum exactly as it is, not to complicated like some others:bow::bow::bow:

the suggestions arent to make it sound like i dont like the place, far from it...it is very well set up and easy to use, with just over 3k members, those people might benefit from some of the suggestions, hence why rvm likes some of the ideas :)

it is after all a suggestions section of the forum ;)

I like the ideas but no 1 likes change. I don't really mind either way. I'm sure every1 will back me up in saying this but its nice to have people on the forum that care and want to improve things. So thank you we'll see what comes out of it. :nice:

We should have a Message box. It’s like a live chat room thing.

I can see where you are coming from bud :) Some people are afraid of change...maybe it will be better for the club if there were some changes, whether my suggestions are good enough or not remains to be seen.

EK9.org has the potential to be a big car club, the more and more people notice the size of the club, the more successful it becomes :) I own a Citroen Saxo VTR as it is cheap, and I can afford to run it. Come next year, i shall have an EK9 in CW :nice: which means i will be supporting the club even more ;)

EK9.org Club Shop is a must...sell merchandise...get noticed. Anything to help make this already great club better...I will :)

5th suggestion in Post 1 :)

apologies again if it sounds like a stupid suggestion :)

It seems to me like you are looking at this from a business standpoint, ek9.org was created for 1 reason:

a man one day wanted to find info on the ek9, it was hard to find and there was no dedicated source of information to be found, that man created ek9.org for that reason, we do this for the love of it, the other day i spent 4 hours revising and compiling the stickies, i do that cause i love this site. As long as the passion is real which it certainly is the site will continue to grow. We don't need to do things to make the site more appealing, this is a tech forum, we do what we do best and people will join, no gimmicks needed...

Love it blinx, spot on mate.

I do agree with Blinx...and having looked more into it, it is clear that it is a tech forum, rather than a community-orientated forum. Just thought my suggestions would be a help...sorry if it offened anyone :)

As for the comment regarding business point of view....it was not my intention to make it sound like it has come across to you.
