Need a help,

Does any one ever tried a this A-Spec kit in a EK4. I use mine on track and I'm afraid that a my chassi won't be able to suport a larger bar.

PS: I know that it's a EK9 forum, but I really need some help on that.

I would get a rear brace to strengthen the chassis other wise you will more than likely have your sway bar riped out

I have the ASR subframe kit w/ 22mm sway bar on my EJ9, and I've had no problems at all.

And my car has been on the track, and I've also had my share of 'inspired driving' on the back roads.

Better to be safe than sorry, as you seem fully aware of

edit; must use stiff springs, or else it'll tear out the subframe anyway

asr brace is easiest option, other is to buy ek9 subframe and have that welded in

i personally think the ASR brace is the best and its enough, however i personally run the ST brace and ST 22mm rear sway bar on my ej6 with no problems :nice: if your that concered about subframe damage just make sure your rear springs are stiff too so your sway bar isent doing all the work, im sure dino can chime in and give some info too :nice:

Right now I'm using Eibach springs, do you think that they are stiff enough?

telling us what brand of spring you use wont help ... you need to state the spring rate

eibach arent stuff enough and this isnt about spring rate, its whole package, you should have reinforcment full stop

They are progressive springs, there is no fixed spring rate but a linear function that they don't tell us witch one.

oh well, i have eibach ERS springs 250lb in the rear which is stiff enough as i have nothing in the rear, i sometimes wish i had 350lb though...

i'm the asr subframe kit :)

save me alot of worries of the getting rip off. plus it gives it a good bling bling effect :p

real good item to have if u plan to have a thick sway bar.

Hi there! Did you keep the stock front swaybar? Did you get snap oversteer or lift off oversteer?

I'm hopefully going to be fitting mine in a few days, however I have one small concern. In the picture below, the exhaust runs under the LCA, which is fine, however my Tanabe SMR runs OVER the LCA, and comes back down tight against the standard roll bar bracket.

I'm concerned that once the brace is on with a thicker bar, there's going to be some conflict of space in this area. Anyone had a similar problem? Mainly seems like a problem with the exhaust as it sits about an inch forward of where it should be...

dont forget when the car is on the ground things change, like in that photo the exhuast is pushed up the rear LCA, once the car is on the ground and the suspension is loaded that arm goes up and out of the way :) also worth noting i have a 3" exhaust and it clears my rear sway bar no problem :nice:

Good point, but the design of mine is completely different. The pipe on that one clearly runs under the LCA, mine is definately over it. Good for ground clearance, bad for hitting the chassis.
As it is, the pipe is already touching the bracket, rattles a lot on idle which is quite annoying.

I'm about to install the Integra GSR rear sway bar on my Ej6. Do I have to in stall the front one as well? I don't race on the track and I don't have a B series motor on my car.

No you don't 'have' to install the front one at all, it's merely up to you, but if you are upgrading the rear it would be advisable to upgrade the front too, or add a front one if you don't have one.
