Have been advertising my Bike (rs125) on ebay and other places for the past few weeks, finally found a potential buyer who said he`d come and collect the bike with cash in Hand...

All went well until he starting checking the Chassis end engine numbers.. "thats not right".. I argued that the bike was fully HPI clear and displayed the HPI print off from when I bought the bike. So still confused on whats gone wrong but basically the chassis and engine number dont match the log book yet the number plate does.

I am so P**sed at the mo, ask the police to come round tomorrow to look into things but all signs point to the bike being previously stolen. Pretty much just lost £2500 in one day, an ek9 is getting further away :((

Bad news mate, sorry to hear it.
But the police will take the bike from you if its stolen...

Sorry, but hide the bike quick.. I wouldnt let them take it unless you know who and where to go about getting your money back.. Dont let the bike go until then..

Sorry to hear, thats a balls.. Hope it goes your way..

The bike has already been reported by myself, on there records they said there was "nothing to suspect" that the bike is dodgy but theres only so much they can tell you.

Im hoping that the bike was supplied by the original dealership and given the wrong number plates. So the bike I have is actually registered as someone elses and vice versa, anyway moral of the story- Dont waste your time with bikes!

It could be that it's had a new engine at some point!! Don't think the worst dude, it could be that simple!

I did think that but the engine number didnt match the HPI check that the buyer had done on the bike.

- Trying to be positive, 2 grand is a lot of money but just going to be prepared to wait that bit longer to earn the lost money. Cheers for the condolences though guys, the reply I got from my girlfriend was "I said you shouldnt of got a bike" :angry2:

This is all made worse by the prospect of potentially having to run my sisters ford K.A for a month as Im soon out of a car.

Not a great month so far!

Sorry to hear, but why did you call the Police? If it turns out to be previously stolen and they have record of it; they'll seize it of you...

To be honest I sort of just panicked and wanted to know there and then.. Fortunately the bike isn`t stolen, it was a mix up in registration by the original dealer. Could take a good six weeks to sort all of it out!! Just relived at the moment tbh though!

...take the engine out and slam it into a kart and have a hell-of a time at a track!

Throw it into a smart car. Alot faster than a 9 :p goodthing it's not stolen though. Po would have taken it off you. No cash+no bike

id of never rung the police, risking 2500 so they can seize it i dont think so haha
