Hi.

The last 2 days i have driven my car , more than any other time.
From complete stop , accelerating normally with 1st gear get to hear a small whistle noise for abour 1second. Once the car is in motion it dissapears.

I thought it was my clutch disc failing , but it runs superb on high Rpm with my close setup ratios.

The disc is an Exedy Organic Stage 1 , with its Exedy pressure plate , koyo bearings and a new Act prolife 4kg flywheel. They have all been replaced in November 2011 when i rebuilt my gear box. Since then i have only covered not much than 4-5,000km.

Anyone had a similar issues ? Who;s the suspect ? Thanks

What air intake have you? I've witnessed this noise in plenty of cars and it was the air intake. You can even hold your foot on the accelerated just enough to make it whistle for longer. If that's it it's nothing to worry about :)

Its Fujita F5 CAI.

Whistle noise , like when you are in reverse with the Exedy organic clutch and you stress the disc a bit. I don't know if any of you had any experience with exedy stage 1 organic discs but thats the noise. :/

There ya go!!
I had an Injen cold air intake. Looks the same as that. And I had the whistle! I got the mugen air intake box and it's gone since. Also 2 cars I know have the slug intakes and they make the noise too. It's something to do with the way air is sucking in. I wouldn't worry about it. When your driving the noise won't last longer then 1second. Unless you take foot off throttle a bit when you hit the noise. I'm 99% sure you're experiencing the same whistle I used. And my air intake looked identical:p

Gonna agree , same thing with my slug , should whistle while you are easy on the throttle and turn into induction sound when your full , it's more than likely just the sound of the intake nothing to worry about

had the same on my slug intake , whistles around 2.5-4k , if you get the hang of it you can make it whistle whenever you want to lol :nice:

B18c whistle alot more than the B16b, just a pointless bit of info from me there :)
Dunx

Something to correct.
Its not a whistle noise coming from air induction.
Something from the clutch ??

If your sure it's coming from the clutch then my first guess would be the bearings , but strange since its been done so recently
