I find the staff at Admiral don't know there own product, phone in the evening and you know the score. Insurance is a joke, think of a number basically. Green light have been good with me, but so have others. Comes down to the person on the end of the phone, make it a nice experience and I would pay a little extra for that. And in Essex they all Geezers, they know there moters

LOL.......And we all drive like :drive:

It could be that Admiral dont do imports for Northern Ireland postcodes anymore as that could explain why the Op got rejected by Admiral but others are quoting.

this problem insuring imports thing must be the tip of the iceberg.. hearing more and more companies doing this, and for no real valid reason..

I live in Southern Ireland, been with 123.ie for years on an import s2000, went to transfer over to the EK9 civic, and they said they no longer cover imports, and point blank said no, even though the car was sitting on the street ready to go.. They will only cover them if it was insured with them before this rule came in.

It was only when I threatened to cancel the car and house policy they went to their underwriters for permission and got cover then.. I might have to look for a new insurance company if i want the s2000 back on the road.

I've never really understood the difficulty with imports - i suppose parts availability means theres more chance of a wrire off, but most imports are a good few years old so not worth the world.
