Anyone installed one?
The spoon/spoon type one that attaches directly to the engine mount next to the cam cover....
Ive just put one on today, and cant really notice the difference..... apart from more vibration...
I think my mounts or gearbox or something must be really shot...
The car starts to kangaroo a lot - and there is a big " gap " between on and off throttle...

well its suppose to cause more vibration as it just transfers the forces from the engine mounts to the chassis.. What "difference" were you hoping?

yeah i was expecting the vibration obviously....

i was expecting less engine movement ?

Your engine mounts must be stuffed! When I installed new mounts + SPOON damper, there was hardly any movement. Even on the dyno when it hits the limiter, it hardly shakes.

You'll get some more vibrations but once you change all your mounts, the vibrations should go away.

I have one on my EK9 and yes i felt some vibration too...

Well, put a cable tie on the damper and go for a run, check to see how far the cable tie has moved...
if moved more than 4-5mm, I would get new mounts....

Do you understand what I mean? do I need to get a picture?

Yeah bon i get ya.
Will try something.....is there anything else apart from engine mounts that can create " play " like i described in my 1st post ^

Kangaroo as in wheel hop when launching your car? = mounts need replacing
but i dont understand the rest of what your said

nah
like as in driving around 2000rpm in 2nd gear partial throttle, go over a pothole, car starts bouncing backwards and forwards, so bad you have to let off completely/ or stamp on the gas or change gear

Well i thought it would be the engine mounts lol..... ( my theory of go over a bump, the shock to the drivetrain then starts the ( possibly? ) knackered engine mounts and engine rocking ... )

This sounds really thick i know....
But my gearbox has a very noisey bearing ( most likely input shaft ) .... could there be forwards and backwards play ? is that even possible? yeah i know how dumb that sounds lol

If i jack up one wheel off the ground, with the car in gear ( non lsd ) ... i can turn the wheel like 1/8th of a turn before it stops.... not sure if that is normal or not.....

btw its an EF crx ( engine damper modified to fit ;) )
2 of the mounts are new ( front and cam side mount + brand new engine damper )....

all the suspension is just about brand new too c( mostly on spherical bearings front and rear lol )

Could be, still have not sorted it.
Thing is a lot of people off the crx forum install some sort of damper like i did , if their back damper mount goes.... and then they dont have the problem anymore....
It was kind of a bandaid fix till i get the new engine in etc
