I need some help from the insurance guys on here with an argument between Me, My Girlfriend and her Dad.

Basically she wants a vauxhall tigra as her first car. shes found 2 quotes.

Quote A: 18 year old female, cv10 postcode, 99 t reg vauxhall tigra £500 excess.

£1700 :|

Quote B: same as above but with £800 excess and her dad as a named driver. (50 years old. driving 15 years plus 8 year NCB)

£1200 (not bad in my experience)

But putting this to her dad hes bacially said no no no. 'If i have you as a named driver my policy will be loads more'

To which i basically said bollocks! I've had my dad on my policy since starting driving (5 years now) and his has never gone up EVER.

So is there any juice to what he's said or is it aload of rubbish??

Thanks for your efforts!
Ryan

a load off rubbish. he is just being a typical auld dude worrying about fuk all

lolz hes wrong. it will not affect his own insurance so whys he moaning.
800 exc? really high???

^ Lol I'm on £1000. Girls get amazing quotes! My girlfriend was paying half what I would have had to on a like-for-like quote, it's ridiculous because she is rubbish at driving!

Put it to him this way & this mite convince him! (this is true as well)

If he put's his name on your GF's insurance, that means he has access to another vehicle!

So when he insures his car him self & tells them he has access to another vehicle this will bring donw his insurance because they will see it has he will not use his car as much as he has access to another!

I know this because when i rang to accept my quote i got on the net the other day, we had to go through all the details agen & on the net my Mrs was down as having access to another vehicle, so when i told the woman on the phone that she didnt my quote went up!

Anyway her dad dont need to know his names on there, there is nothing for him to sing!:))

Hope this helps!:nice:

Cheers for you replys guys. If this gets brought up again ill be sure to mention it!

Anyway her dad dont need to know his names on there, there is nothing for him to sing!

thats exactly what i said pal; i doubt she'd do that though which is a shame £1800 for a policy on a 1.4 is stupid!
