Basically having a right headache with this clucking noice now and put it down to the driveshafts but now looking it could be the bearing.

The shafts have play in them while the bearing are still ? dont want to waste money time fittin etc on shafts if its the bearing and viser versa :angry2:

Anyone any ideas ? thanks !

if you have the full cut on the car while turning right or left and you hear a clicking noise, its the outer drive (cv joint) if a bearing is worn, it will make a wooing noise

Nither, clucking when realeading clutch and he'll of a bang and terrible rough ride over small bumps, bigger the worse :(

...what, are you a spelling bee fanatic? lol How about help this issue and less on helping his spelling. "LO" fu(kn "L"

It was a bit of humour as he was telling us all about his CLUCKING issue

my post was as relevant to this topic as yours except mines was made in good spirit.........

go figure !

On a side note I offer my help in nearly every topic I can - I never get anything besides an occasional thanks in return - not even +Rep which would be nice sometimes.

Dunk in the post above mine already suggested it may be the inner CV joint - theres not much more to add. Without looking at the problem it cant really be diagnosed on the internets.

...sorry man. I just hate filtering all the info...gets old as you may know.
my apologies.

You wanna check the rubber boots on your drive shafts for leakage or splits, whilst your doing that you can also check if there is any play in the shafts too and maybe you'll find out where the clunking is coming from. Good luck

Thanks for the replys !

Does'nt wine or splits, leaks BUT ...

Had it on the ramp and both (mainly the drivers side) driveshafts both quite abit of play in them inner side, when holding the shaft and wobbling the input (into g/box)

Driveshafts then ? or can you replace just the inners ? thanks

OR worn gearbox bearings ?

its a hard 1 to say ive heard this n had a luk under it wen you press the accelerator or brake the clunk happens and sumtimes over speed bumps its reali wierd its asif it sounds like its a loose drive shaft but i wudnt say it is because their isnt enough play in the shafts to make that much of a noise

could their be something in the gearbox which could make this sort of noise wen you 1st brake or accelerate but in any gear or nutrual ????

i had a problem with my drive shaft the other day, it was clicking noise whenever the car start to remove, stop or change gear, jack the car up n check for any play. found out the clicking noise was coming from the gearbox/inner cv jont. so my mechanics suggested me to buy a second hand drive shaft, as he think i cant buy the inner cv joint on its own for the civic.

took the original drive shaft off the other day, check for play, nothing at all!! and found out it was the gearbox that clicks.
