Asking the experts

If your only concerns are the speed/power of the EK9, you know I can get rid of that worry dont you...lol

I aint concerned about the speed of the ek9 or dc2, it's just that I like them both but i am definatley leaning towards the ek9 now :nice:

:D

make sure you get a proper feel of both cars. 1 drive aint enough for a decision. They are both great cars, but the pull of the DC2 is much better than the EK9. Handling seems more stable on the EK9 like others have said here.

EK9 smaller car, agile, looks nice and small
DC2 longer car, more power, coupe lovers

BUT!!!

if the DC2 ITR is 98spec imported, then the EK9 will just be too slow since you drove the ITR first. If it's UKDM 96spec, then decision isn't so hard.

I wish we had the 98spec

I had my first ride in a integra type r today......

Still smiling from that baaaarrrrrp!!!!! :drive::nice::clap:

the EK9 is even more BARRRPPP when VTEC kicks in....

my opinion, if you are going to mod your car it doesn't matter which one you choose, so its down to looks and how you feel in the car.

you can always change the suspension setup on the DC2 to make up for the handling, or up the power on the EK9...etc etc.

Torque imports are ok but a bit expensive IMO, either the ek9 or teg will be a marked improvement in the handling department when compared with your ibiza turbo but the ek9 and teg my feel a bit guttless torque wise when compared to your ibiza turbo

but i suppose the ek9's/tegs sky high rev limit and good power to weight ratio will more than make up for loosing a turboed motor :nice:

what sort of power/torque is your turbo running then ?

vtec,

My ibiza should be running just under 200bhp and the car is quick, problem is it dont handle very well and I have a lot of country B roads which could be really fun in a better handling car.

The integra type r felt faster than my ibiza, it's the noise that it makes that puts a smile on my face and thats what I want, my ibiza is so quiet its boring lol! I just love vtec and I want one!! :nice::clap:

I'm going to look at ek9 and teg tomorrow so I should have a better idea of what I want after then.

well the both the car isn't at the same category so comparison will b quite unfair to EK9, as DC2 is a 1.8 and EK9 is an 1.6, difference are there when it comes to B16B and B18C, but i'll rather choose EK9, although its torque aren't as much as B18C(no one would complain bout the HP though), its almost 200-300kg more lighter than DC2, this gives EK lot more advantage in track or daily car, a more lighter car means a better car

I would say it is just down to if you want a hot hatch or a coupe (yes i know dc2 is a sort of hatch). They are virtually the same performance and lap times. :drive:
IMO the dc2 feels a bit dated inside now.
Dunx

Seriously...
I don't know whereyou get your info from.

DC2R 98spec 1070kgs
EK9rx 1090kgs
EK9 so srs, abs, ps, aircon = 1050kgs
