i have a 93 delsol eg2 b16a2 engine and iam putting a b16b engine with gear box and trasmitions. what do i need to modifhy? injectors alternator... what can aniome tell me my car is a left hand drive and the engine is from a right hand drive

the only thing that i can think of is the shifter linkage you have to use the one from you're current engine, and the motor mounts

honestly i don't think you will need anything, it should all bolt right up, depending on what wiring harness/ecu your using you may need a jumper and you may need to rewire your distributor. basically your car sounds like its obd1 and you are putting and obd2 engine in it so all normal rules apply, i don't know those rules because i always stayed obd2 myself...

my car is obd1 and its going stay that way i have a p30 with chip to run the b16b. i have the ek9 shift linkage do i need that or my will work? can i use my obd1 distributor?

my car is left hand drive and the engine is right, does that make any difference?

no difference rhd or lhd it fit's blinx 9900 is right you will need to take the harness off of your old motor and use that one for the b16b you might have to extend the injector plugs and some other sensors tps sensor i think. anyways man good luck with the swap keep us updated and post some pics.

i will the b16b will arrive next weak tanks

Also

B16B does not have VTEC pressure Switch (VTPS) you will have to fix this to have Vtec engaged. Fix is simple and you short connect power wire of VTPS and power of VTS wire. The rest is grounded and that is it.

If you come to a problem while doing swap ask !

b16b dosent have vtec switch? how does it engage?:bow::bow:

It does have Vtec solenoid, this is one that engages VTI.

There are some conditions to engage VTI working, but in B16B JDM OBD2 ecu doesn't look for a VTPS, which is one of them. So when he put P28 or other OBD1 ECU, it will require and look for VTPS.

Also he will additionally just in case check:

IACV, CKF, O2 wiring and KS wiring, because of the difference in OBD generations.

i have a chip to run a b16b i dont if is going to need vtps signal. i have my original o2 sensor and ckf , whats iacv..... tanks:nice::nice::nice::nice:

its a p30 my ecu . i have all my old sensor if need....

In some wiring installations, IACV has 3wires and is some 2 wires.
OBD2 has 2 O2 sensor and in OBD1 it should have 1.
CKF sensor is differently wired in some installations. Pins on connectors are in different place.

You take the service manual and check the scheme, just in case.

P30 is OBD1 usdm as far as I know.
I heard that P30 came also with JDM B16A.

usdm version will try to find VTPS, will not find it in B16B, and you must do FIX I have told you. Don't know what kind of chip you have tough.

could u just use the b16b ecu and be fine? i am also running the usdm b16a2 engine harness but am using the b16b ecu.. no CEL's (check engine light) if i dont plug that clip in, since there is no where to plug it into...?

i wouldnot recommended unless if your b16a has the exact set up as the b16b like type r cams springs intake manifold exhaust etc.

no you have it backwards. i have an em1 (00 civic si) and i had the b16a2 motor in it but recently swapped it with a b16b. im using the harness from the b16a2 onto the b16b motor. there are two sensors that i know of that wont plug in; the VTPS (Vtec Pressure Sensor) and the Intake manifold temperature sensor, well at least you have to rewire the temp sensor. but can someone explain to me as to why the b16b motor doesnt have the VTPS? thanks and cheers

y 2 b16b? theres not that much difference between the 2 engines.id of waited and got b18 mate your not goina noticed a huge change.

i went for the rarity i live in NE of the USA... and i also needed something that was relatively the same size (liter wise) and would bolt right up... something very compatible to my car and i figured that was pry about right... plus i love JDM so i guess thats why too... but all in all everything has gone very well and bolted up great so far but those two clips. The VTPS and int. mani temp sensor which will be an easy rewire and clip. Im still kind of wondering as to why the b16b motor doesnt use the VTPS? any help?
