Hi guys,

Been searching this for ages but can't find any answers. My speedo is not working, and the VSS wires are all over the shop.

The speedo converter has yellow, grey, red and black wires...

on the gearbox the plug has a black, yellow/black, and blue/white wires can anyone help?

cheers

Does your speedo work at all?

When I had issues with my VSS the speedo would stay at 0, then bounce back and forth to 100. Vtec wouldn’t engage either.

Turned out I had a loose connection on the VSS plug. Some silicone and its been fine for years.

Apart from that, im not too sure.

Speedo converters (or rather badly fitted speedo converters) are usually to blame. First thing I would do if there wasn't anything obvious would be the cut it out and see if it works as normal in km/h.

How one should be wired is;

Converter black to VSS black (spliced)
Converter red to VSS Yellow&Black (spliced)
Converter yellow to Blue&White wire going to the vss (cut wire)
Converter grey to Blue/white going back towards the ECU (cut wire - other end of wire cut above)

Hope that makes sense

Matt
