b18 idle control valve

I have been advised by my mapper to by a new or know to be fine and working well IDLE CONTROL VALVE. As every time he tried to map my high ideal out it returns every time you take it out a drive.

So my question is where is the best place to buy one brand new or if anyone has a known working one that does not make your car high idle.

Had a problem very similar on my turbo 9,i went to honda.cant remember price but thats your best bet mate.

Cheers. The problem is also on my Turbo'ed B18 and my mate just had the same problem on his turbo'ed B16.

Yeah i have fixed the dodgy on-off throttle at low speed with the TPS but still getting idle run.... think we both need IACV's, and i am preferring new one from honda so its done right

Have your tried cleaning them out?
Do the newer civics come with a FITV? A dodgy fitv can keep the idle high, even when warm.
Having a quick look on Google throws up prices around 200 dollars, so expect Honda UK to nail you about 300

they have been cleaned thoroughly! Dont think the b16a2 has a FITV

Yip I used about half a tin of carb cleaner trying to clean the dam thing out.

James (My mapper) had a wee look and the valve is still letting through about 5% of air through when it should be fully shut. So that's what keeps messing with my map and making my idle high.

If it's £300 it's £300 not much I can do about it. If it solves the problem awesome

Does the newer Eacv have a cover you can take off? Mines was full of sludge. Maybe worth a try.
