Ok guys my mate has an eg that's got a bit of a back story.
Had a b16a2 back street conversion, then that died and a 'b18c' went in. Again conversion/swap was rough af. Then I took over working on it.
Did loads of steering, suspension, brakes stuff fuel lines and wiring and repaired loads of dodgy connections in the harness. Before eventually replacing it completely with a good one. Put a walbro pump in, aem rail and fpr. Wideband, Dc sports manifold and it got a stunning custom 2.5 inch system with his hks wind master. Car went away for new rear arches and full respray.
Eventually got it running ok. Then he went to Henry Roy to get it mapped on crome. It was down on compression and burning oil. Henry rebuilt the engine and advised that he found a b18c? Something piston in there and he had replaced it with an 18c piston he had. Anyway after th rebuild it got run in then tuned. Made 200, just. Then he was advised that it didn't have type r cams and that was holding it back. I thought this was odd as you would of thought he would realise when doing the head work during the rebuild.
Anyway. He has now got a set of dc2 cams and I am going to fit them. Then Aonghus is going to map it the same day as mine. Early Feb.
Question is... If I take our whatever cams are in there and swap them for the type r ones, will it be safe enough to run on the map he has to get home and then to the tuners? Maybe 70/80 miles.
It has the wideband gauge so we can see the afr but would be good to get opinions before having problems.
