ive brought a b18c4 with a b16 head with a fair bit of work done, the bloke said it lost oil pressure. what's the chances of it picking up on the bores? also what is the maximum you can bore a b18 out too safely
?

Oil pressure is likely the pump wearing or simply breaking.
Depending on the situation when the pressure died and how that happened really.
I wouldn't expect the bores to be scored at all unless it's been pumping metal about the engine.
If your not boosting it I'd be happy with 82mm so 1mm overbore. They'll no doubt be fine at more than that but personally I'd just get a new block if it was that ******....

thanks for the reply, i got the engine out today, and the lad rekons it has a b16b head on it is there anyway of telling if it has ect?

Iirc there's a patch of green paint near the dizzy somewhere?
Take cams out and check the ends of them. B16b has a tell. A quite Google should bring that up.

Look at the inlet valve stems through the manifold ports...they are thinned, and the ports somewhat polished on a type t head. I posted pics up in my build thread.
