So recently bought a Turbo MB6 and I'm just wondering what's the best oil to use? The person I got it off used Motul 10w60 but the seals in the turbo aren't the best and it's throwing a bit of smoke (Gonna be sorted Asap) I'm sure the 10w60 doesn't help with the smoke, being so thin?
Any info would be great
Thanks
Chris

I thought it's the other way round, 10/60 being thicker? I know 5/30 is like water.

But anyway, I ran my B18c4 turbo on Millers 10w/60.

I could be very wrong I'm not fully sure either haha so stick with the 10w60 you reckon?

The higher the number the thiker the oil, i think the numbers mean 10 weight at 60 degrees for example. I'm boosted and running Mobil 1 10w60.

I say different man. Sae scale is viscosity warm and cold. The w means winter.

On the turbo seals point tho the remedy isn't different grade of oil it's new turbo seals and the right oil. If it's a ball bearing turbo and you use a thicker oil it will make the situation worse as on cold start the pressure will be too high and the ball bearing turbos can't deal with high oil pressure.

Completely ignore what I wrote there, robs right! I once read that somewhere and took it for granted lol. Yeah the first number is its viscosity at 0 degrees, hence they put a 'w' next to it for winter!

Sound Rob seals will be done asap when I order them online. I was just wondering can using a certain oil effect the seals and smoke?
